Questions, answered

Does this quiz tell me which specific plan to buy?

No. It gives you an educational leaning toward Medicare Advantage or a Medicare Supplement based on how you answered four lifestyle questions — it is not a recommendation of any specific plan or carrier. A licensed advisor reviews your actual doctors, prescriptions, and budget before you decide.

Why does this quiz say 'Medicare Supplement' instead of naming a specific plan?

Wisconsin and Minnesota are among a few states with their own standardized Medicare Supplement systems — they don't use the national lettered plan system used in most other states. Wisconsin builds coverage from a mandatory Basic Plan plus optional riders; Minnesota offers a Basic Plan and an Extended Basic Plan. Because the systems differ by state, we use the generic term 'Medicare Supplement' here and let a licensed advisor walk through the exact coverage combination for where you live.

Is Medicare Advantage cheaper than Medicare Supplement?

Often the monthly premium is lower or $0, but Advantage plans use a provider network and have variable copays up to a yearly out-of-pocket maximum. Supplement plans usually cost more per month but offer more predictable costs and nationwide provider access. The right trade-off depends on your health, travel, and budget.

Can I switch between Medicare Advantage and a Supplement later?

Sometimes, but it's not guaranteed — switching into a Supplement plan after your initial Medigap Open Enrollment window may require health underwriting. Timing your decision correctly matters, which is why a local advisor reviews your specific window before you enroll.
